Twisted Coils - Chapter 20 - Typhon_Uroboros - Biohazard (2024)

Chapter Text

Standing there outside for who knows how long, the air cool against skin and scales, coils shifting around before settling in the grass, Wesker's gaze was towards the sky staring up at the clouds, he was so used to thunderstorms, rain, or even gloomy weather, nothing this relaxing nor peaceful.

What was peace anyways? All his life he'd been running around, chasing the things he desired the most though it always pained him in the end, to look upon a glorious subject of a Tyrant only to be gutted by the thing, to be burned by Alexia for daring to try and go after the T-Veronica virus only to end up crushed under burning metal supports oh the humor of that situation was unbearable to him, an attempt to gain the Las Plagas and Amber only to lose it after a betrayal yet he still got was he desired off of Krauser's body, learning the truth of what Spencer did to him only to be tackled out a window by that of Jill Valentine. She didn't die, he had to deal with her, use her to do his bidding, oh how he enjoyed the look on Chris’ face when he realized his dear beloved Jill was alive.

Now here he was, Uroboros, a virus he created to globally saturate the world with, letting the weak rot and die as the strong would only live, yet here he is, in a pit of his own failure, defeated by Chris, Jill, and Sheva. Two rockets to the body and lava to bask in, how he could feel the pain within the back of his mind, how his body ached and thrashed in pain as he crawled away, he could recall the aftermath so clearly, how his legs where mangled upon disrepair and his own organs hanging out of him and being roasted alive as they tried to slurped back up into his body.

Yet now he was trapped as the traitorous snake he was to everyone, such a poetic way to go, to become something people fear, a snake one shouldn't trust in their life at all. It only made Wesker want to punch a hole in the wall out of pure frustration alone, he couldn't go back to being human, he can never go back, not like he truly felt human to even begin with. This endless cycle he felt like biting his own damn tail this time around.

Wesker's gaze drifted back down as he sighed heavily “what does peace mean to you Leon?” Wesker calmly asked as his burning gaze fixed onto Leon.

“Hmm? What?....” Leon was taken out of his train of thought as he looked over at Wesker, seeing how his shoulders were slouched down and he was hunched to match his level, “What does peace mean to me? God I wish I knew the answer to that one” Leon replied as he crossed his arms.

“If I could just go back…” Leon continued as he huffed, “Things could have been different…” He muttered with the shake of his head, the memories of Raccoon City flooding his head, he held some spite for Wesker because of it though he was standing beside an enemy, an enemy he let get close to him and cuddle with, his mind faltered a bit upon the struggle of all. Wesker felt the same, he wished he could just go back in time and save Birkin, to take him with him to greater pastures yet what happened… happened. He couldn't help but wonder where Sherry went. He hoped to God that the girl wasn't dead, he could care less about Annette, but it would be such a shame to know a young and bright mind was dead because of what He and Birkin had created and done.

Leon felt something trickle onto his face, he glanced to the sky, watching the gray clouds roll in, a soft drizzle of rain falling down as it pattered his face, “this wasn't on the forecast” he'd mumbled out only to hear shifting to his side as Wesker glanced up to the skies.

Wesker's clawed hand held out to the rain as it fell into his hand, the water gliding past his scales and dripping down into the grass below, a sigh left him as he stared back down into his hand more memories to look back on.

Red and blue flashing lights, the guttural growls and sirens blaring in the city, puddles splashing up with the sound of rushing feet going through them over the concrete paths and paved roads. The way the rain would hit the windows as thunder rumbled in the sky, flashes of lighting luminating a menace that loomed over the creator and tormentor of innocence.

Yet the sound of crashing would rang in both their ears, crashing through windows, crashing through metal of a monstrosity.

“Such…. Silence….” Wesker muttered out shaking his head, his slicked back hair becoming wet over time, a few strains of it dangled and fell out of place as his burning gaze looked down upon Leon.

“Just remembering things, that's all…” Leon replied though couldn't shake the feeling inside his mind, why did it feel so calm to just stand in the rain as it fell harder, though eventually both men stiffened up at the sound of thunder.

“I could only imagine it is nothing but gloomy thoughts in your mind, yes?” Wesker questioned as his tongue flickered out slightly, the taste of nature filling his senses as overwhelming as it was, but he could just pick up Leon's faint taste amongst it.

“Depends on what you define as gloomy, Snakey” Leon scoffed as Wesker hissed at him.

“What did I say about those nicknames, Leon” Wesker sneered as he hunched his head closer to Leon's direction to stare him down.

“Could be worse you know… like at least I'm not calling you Hissy, or maybe I have a few times… or many I Sssshould start hisssing like you” Leon mocked a hiss getting Wesker to roll his eyes.

“Now you just stop before I figure out a way to contact Ada and get her to put you back on your leash” Wesker sneered and Leon shook his head.

“Hey! Come on, what did I do! But more so wouldn't that be a bad idea, your secret would get out snak-” Leon tried to continue that but felt piercing eyes burn directly into his soul and he shut up, but he did wonder how Ada was doing, such a mystery that woman was.

Leon wasn't wrong and Wesker shook his head with a heavy sigh in ashamed agreement of Leon's words, “I'm not even sure what I can even do or who I can even trust” Wesker hissed dropping his arms to his sides as his gaze fixed back up at the clouds, who was his Friends and who were his enemies. Did he even have any more enemies considering he was dead to the world now? Maybe some still held a vendetta against him, maybe all the remaining members of S.T.A.R.S still despised his ass even though he was “dead”, yet he smirked at a thought, he could imagine Chris was still worked up over the thoughts of him, oh how poor and deluded Chris was.

A loud boom of thunder immediately snapped the both out of their thoughts and they glanced to one another with a silent agreement of getting back indoors now before things got worse as the rain fell heavier, hisses and fussing followed as the two darted back to the safehouse as the rain kept coming.

It kept pouring.

Just like those tears he'd let silently fall in the middle of the night.
