I'm in the expensive plug='snake oil' camp... I cannot see what difference it could make as long as the plug makes a spark when asked. The fuel mix does not differentiate between a small spark and a big one.
To put another way, I've never noticed a difference when I've had the plugs changed.

Bosch plugs are just fine. It's the coil pack that I wouldn't skip on :thumb:

I have both Bosch plugs & coilpacks and they're bob on. The Bosch coilpacks were made with the same mould tool as the Berus. I bet they're the same part with a different branding.

Where do you buy Bosch coilpacks? I have only seen Beru and Bremi at eurocarparts. Autodoc also don't list Bosch.
Apparently the Beru are now a different mould, and have to do modifications to fit them. Not too keen on Bremi, as never heard of the brand.

I got the coilpacks at CP4L but they don't do them now. They do Haas though at £17 each. Haas are a good make and personally, I'd buy them now. Run used to have bucket loads of Haas lasers at work for automated welding - they were SH!

Beru have changed the mould design of their packs which are OEM. I changed them on my last Gen 1 Turbo and the new design will not fit the front cylinder on the D/S, for this you need the old design which is available from OPC or via Design911 which is where I got mine.
The Beru are what Porsche fit, the old design cracked and allowed moisture ingress which is what eventually kills the pack, unfortunately it does this with no warning at all, bumf it's gone!
Best thing to do is visually check the packs to see if you can see any splitting, if you see anything like rust residue or splits change them immediately.
The new design is a lot chunkier and the bolts protrude above the pack now which is what causes the problem. I think Beru changed them without looking at the earlier cars, the Gen 2 is probably fine but the Gen 1 isn't. Best thing to do if you own a gen 1 turbo is keep an old style pack in reserve, although it's the packs to the rear of the engine that seem to suffer with water ingress and hence splitting.

When I changed mine a few years back at 8 years/40k miles, three were badly split, and three looked fine.
I think it was the "hard to get to" ones which were fine. The ones that were more exposed were the split ones.
I don't think I would want to use anything but Beru - is it the same for the Gen1 NA, so just one that won't fit correctly? If so, when I next change, I will re-use one, and keep the old style ones as spare for that spot.

As far as I'm aware it's just the Turbo's that are affected as it's the actuator that's in the way.

Thanks for the replies guys, I was going to do all the coil packs at the same time even though my OPC says no need to change them all unless 2 or more are cracked, then they recommend to change them all.
I'm leaning towards the Bosch 4 pin plugs & Beru coil packs, just purely as I can order everything from ECP, get it delivered and save a little money

My last change were to Denso PK20PR-P8 double platinum (Turbo).
No difference noticed to OE Bosch TBH, ~£8/plug.

Just ordered a set of Bosch plugs & Beru Packs.
I thought I might as well swap them out when Paul is Gundoing my Exhausts next month as you need to remove the boxes on the gen2 to get at them.

I use Denso plugs in my C2.
I also fitted the coils from CP4L 20k miles ago and they still look mint no cracks when I changed the plugs not long ago.
