if you're shopping for art tablets, huion, artisul, and XPPen tablets do just as good a job as their wacom equivalents for less, sometimes even half the price.
when you buy a wacom you're paying almost exclusively for the Brand Name, not any actual quality.

XP-pen ALSO used AI in their new ad, but apologized.

I am straight up painting with one hand and bottle feeding my baby with my other hand. I CAN do it all folks. Just getting the base layers on real ugly.
Also my toe ended up NOT being okay and I kicked off the new year in urgent care for antibiotics. 👍 But we living so far.

It was a rough year, and the art reflects that. Prior to August, sitting up for more than 10 minutes made me incredibly nauseous. August and onward I’ve been busy with a little human lol. For what it was, I won’t judge 2023 too harshly. :)
I’d have been harder on myself, and I have been DREADING this year-end review honestly, but the lovely comments and support I’ve gotten here have really changed my perspective. You guys are the best. ♥

For the swamp art thing I signed up for, I wanted to paint on a wood round. However, I have no experience painting on wood...! So I also bought some mini rounds to practice with, see what works and what doesn't. I feel like I learned a lot. Started with the capybara, then cardinal, cat, and finally the rooster. The flowers were picked and dried by myself weeks prior, I just wish I was more careful with gluing them (should have marked my glue points in pencil, I'll know for the future).
I made these as surprise gifts for friends, but none of them use tumblr so I can post away!
